Device-side safety checks

Before or during sign-in troubleshooting, a few device-side checks can reduce loops, blank pages, and failed verification. None of this involves sharing credentials or turning off security permanently.

Suspicious extensions

Browser extensions can block cookies, modify pages, or interfere with redirects. If you see loops or blank screens, try one test in a private window (where most extensions are off) or with extensions temporarily disabled. Use this as a one-time check; do not leave security extensions off permanently.

Autofill collisions

Autofill or password managers can sometimes submit old data or trigger multiple submissions, which can look like a loop or cause errors. If you use one, try one attempt with autofill disabled for that site only, then retry once. Do not disable the manager globally.

OS and browser updates

Outdated OS or browser versions can cause compatibility issues with modern sign-in flows. Check that the device and browser are up to date, then try once. This is a general hygiene step, not a guarantee for every issue.

Never share codes

Verification codes (SMS, email, or authenticator) should never be shared with anyone. No legitimate support process will ask you to read them out or send them. If someone asks for a code, treat it as a scam and do not provide it.
